2G

2G is a compact software sampler that recreates the unique audio character of early-2000s mobile phones. By typing in a text description of the sound you want, the tool uses neural synthesis to generate a playable audio sample. Users can then further modify these sounds through an array of editing controls—including trimming, looping, vibrato smoothing, and pitch correction—making it easy to craft custom instrument patches.

A signature feature is the simulation of small, lo-fi mobile phone speakers. This effect compresses and shapes the output to mimic the limited frequency range and resonances of handheld devices, which is especially useful for music producers seeking nostalgic or chiptune-style effects. For added flexibility, users can also import their own audio files in multiple formats for manipulation, with all processing and playback available offline unless sound generation credits are being used.

2G comes in both VST3 and standalone versions for Windows and macOS, and generated sounds are royalty-free for music projects. The app is free to use with limited neural synthesis credits and offers paid plans for higher volume usage. It's particularly suited to musicians and producers exploring distinctive retro digital textures, custom sample creation, or those drawn to mobile sound aesthetics.

2G is best suited for music producers, sound designers, and content creators working in digital audio production. Individuals or small teams creating commercial music, game audio, or multimedia projects that require custom sound effects or instrument patches will find it especially valuable.

The tool appeals to those seeking to replicate nostalgic mobile sound textures or generate entirely new, synthetic samples for use in their DAWs. It's also a practical solution for indie developers who need royalty-free sounds for apps, games, or marketing content without hiring dedicated sound engineers.
