Vork

Headless 3D and VFX engine programmable by autonomous agents and AI code

About

Vork is a specialized 3D and visual effects rendering engine designed to be controlled and programmed by AI agents, not humans. Unlike traditional tools built for manual interaction, Vork allows autonomous agents to define, render, and iteratively refine complex scenes via code. The workflow is programmatic: an agent writes code describing a scene, renders it directly on the GPU, evaluates the image, and updates the scene code as needed. This enables advanced automation for creative tasks like simulation, procedural graphics generation, and VFX, without the overhead of user-facing interfaces.

Vork is implemented in Rust and Slang and leverages modern GPU frameworks such as Vulkan and Metal for efficient, high-performance rendering. Its architecture strips away most settings and instead offers programmatic hooks for agents to manipulate geometry, lighting, materials, and physics in a fully customizable manner. The engine is source-available and can be self-hosted or run on cloud GPUs. During its research preview, it’s free to use.

The platform is capable of advanced effects such as compositing 3D renders into real footage, writing shaders and simulations on-the-fly, and executing large-scale procedural animations—like simulating and displaying a million autonomous birds in one scene. Vork is provided as source code and is available via GitHub for those who prefer customization or self-hosting. The tool is part of the broader Voyager ecosystem, which offers cloud credits and various subscription tiers for higher usage or more advanced features.

Who is Vork made for?

Software Developer / Engineer Designer / Creative Lead CTO / Head of Engineering
Solo (1 person) Small team (2-5 people) Startup (6-10 people)

Vork is built for developers, technical artists, and R&D teams working with generative AI agents, computer graphics, and procedural content creation. It is particularly suitable for organizations or professionals developing custom AI agents capable of autonomous visual reasoning, simulation, or graphics programming.

Studios, startups, and research groups exploring automation in 3D animation, VFX, or simulation workflows—who need an engine that supports agent-driven code generation and rendering—will find Vork valuable. It is also relevant for experimentation where programmatic control over all aspects of scene creation and rendering is essential and where fast GPU-based iteration cycles are required.
